Delhi Municipal Corporation is the local governing body which administers the entire union territory of delhi.
Formerly it is known as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). As time passed the increasing population creates a problem for MCD to function properly. So it is replaced by three new bodies.
These three new bodies are as follows:
1- North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC)
2- South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC)
3- East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC)
About North DMC
North DMC is providing services to the population of almost 62 lacs with the responsibility of monitoring, upgrading, and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to creating a better tomorrow for the citizens of Delhi.
It occupies an area of 605 sq km which is around 43% of the total area of Delhi. It maintains the roads/streets up to 60 feet ROW along with drains located on these roads/streets. A road length of 10153 km (in 12 feet width) is covered under the jurisdiction of North DMC.
It is further sub-divided into Six Zones:
1- Rohini
2- Civil Lines
3- Karol Bagh City
4- Sadar
5- Paharganj,
6- Narela Zone
and has :
Wards – 104, Regularized Colonies- 728, unauthorized colonies- 450 , Rural Villages – 102 , and 33 Urban Villages.
There are five major Hospitals and a Medical College in North DMC
Apart from the above, India’s 1st C&D Waste Management Plant at Jahangirpuri-Burari area and India’s largest Waste-to-Energy Plant at Narela-Bawana area has been established by the North DMC as a milestone.
The headquarters is located at Dr. S.P. Mukherjee Civic Centre, JLN Marg, New Delhi. There are two wings i.e. Deliberative Wing and Executive Wing.
About South DMC
SDMC is providing services to the population of around 56 Lacs citizens with a responsibility of monitoring, upgrading, and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to creating a better tomorrow for citizens of Delhi.
It covers an area of 656.91 sq km which is further sub-divided into four Zones- Central Zone, South Zone, West Zone, and Najafgarh Zone and has 104 wards.
South DMC also has the unique distinction of providing civic services to highly posh residential as well as commercial areas, to rural and urban villages, JJ Resettlement Colonies, authorized and unauthorized colonies.
There are:
1- 388 Approved Colonies
2- 86 Rural villages
3- 81 Urbanized villages
4- 111 Unauthorized colonies
5- 252 Unauthorized regularized colonies and,
6- 32 JJ Resettlement Colonies.
The Head Quarter of South DMC is located at SP Mukharjee Civic Centre, Minto Road, Delhi. It has two wings i.e. Deliberate Wing and Executive Wing.
About East DMC
EDMC is providing services to the population of around 18 Lakh (2011 Census) with a responsibility of monitoring, upgrading, and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to creating a better tomorrow.
It covers an area of approx 140 sq km which is further sub-divided into 2 Zones- Shahdara North and Shahdara East Zone. East DMC has 01 Parliamentary Constituency, 16 Legislative Assembly Constituency, 64 Wards, and 680 colonies.

How To Pay Your Property Tax
To pay your property tax click on the online services section of your area’s municipal corporation. After that move, your cursor on the property tax button, hold your cursor, it shows you two options: 1) Citizen Login 2) Manual Payment Search.
Click on the respective option, if you click on Citizen Login it will redirect you to the user login page. If you are already a registered user then you have two options to log in – 1) Using mobile & OTP 2) Using Login ID and Password
=> If you are not a registered user then you have to register first and follow the necessary steps for further proceedings. For registration click on the new user registration as shown in the screenshot below.
